Today's Satsang
Sri Sri: Hmmm.... How are you all?
Happy?
First we will meditate, then we will talk.
Sri Sri: We meditated for 30-minutes?
Did you enjoy it?
Ok. Now, we will discuss something.
Sri Sri: When you want to go inward you should let go. Even a small intention that I want to lock the door. Just before going to sleep, of you have a list then you will see that you cannot sleep. When you want to go into your center core then you have to drop everything. You have to come out of deep meditation. Then you dream. I want to do this. This is Pravruti. Nivruti is to let go of all intentions (sankalpas).
Q: Creativity flows from the second chakra. Is there a connection between 2nd and 6th chakra?
Sri Sri: Yes. There is connection between all the chakras. You are the connection.
Q: When life feels like an exam, how can one celebrate it?
Sri Sri: Who said life is an exam?
Who is the examiner?
Come on!
Life is a learning process. Not the exam. Got it?
Eevry moment you learn something.
Don't think that someone sitting up in the heaven is giving you marks.
Who is the student?
If you do something good, you learn something,
There is no pass or fail here.
Q: If santana dharma is the eternal truth, then why did it not spread all over the world?
Sri Sri: If you see the constitution of any country, they all profess what Rig Veda has said. Equality, equanimity. Our Constitution ends with the last verse of Rig Veda. You will find similarity in every country. Remember one thing, there is something in you that is eternal. That does not die. Which is the same. Look at your own life. Your body, emotions, thoughts have changed. But something in you which recognizes everything is changing that is what you need to hold on to. The world is a bouquet of different religions. You need to pick up the good things and leave the not so good things out. In Nepal, many temples they stopped the sacrifice of animals. It is no where in the scriptures to sacrifice animals.
Buddha said all that is there in the Upanishads.
He came to bring reform.
Similarly, Jesus came to bring reform.
60-70 years after that, a religion was formed.
Q: Is it more important to perfect my chanting or devotion?
Sri Sri: Both. Devotion is the ultimate but that does not excuse you from not perfecting your chant or action.
When guests come, you do everything for them such as making food.
When they leave, we fold our hands and say if there are any problems, please excuse me.
The guest will not say that you did not give me the proper soap, I will not forgive me.
The guests say that you have taken such good care of me.
You see what do you want from guests who come to your house?
You want that the guests should leave all formality and be with you like a family member.
If a guest sits and thinks I want tea and I have to ask for it, then you will feel loaded.
All the son-in-laws note that when you go to your in-laws place, you mingle with them.
See, how you behave when you go to someone's place.
Both types of guests are insensitive: those who come for a few days and stay for a month and those who want to stay for a few days but go away in a few hours making some excuse.
Wherever you go, spread belongingness.
Q: Why does the darkness bother us?
Sri Sri: You feel like that till there is light. There is light. You just have to open your eyes. You do not have to wait for light.
Q: Yoga Vashishta says something and Veda says something.
Sri Sri: Don't get into all this. What you say? See the truth of your life, then you will understand what Yoga Vashistha says. When your consciousness expands, you understand scriptures better. Knowledge is structured in the consciousness.
Q: Should I fear God?
Sri Sri: No need of fear God. It is like being afraid of your mother and father.
God is just love and all love. Even if you make a hundred mistakes, he will accept it and wait for you to move. You should simply know that God is loving.
Q: Confusion about fearing parents and God.
Sri Sri: A good parent will never create fear in their own kids. Similarly, if God is creating fear in you, he is not God. If you cannot trust your parents, you cannot trust God. Then, you cannot trust yourself. Then you cannot trust anybody.
Q: I want to. I am trying.
Sri Sri: Don't try. Just relax. it will all happen.
We should understand doubt before we understand trust.
Doubt is always about something that is positive.
Q: I feel that I am not prosperous.
Sri Sri: For prosperity, you need the blessings of God and you need to put self-effort. One who puts effort and has patience, then they attain prosperity.
Q: I want to do seva for you.
Sri Sri: You smile and make everyone else smile, then know that you have done seva for me.
Q: Is Art of Living a religion?
Sri Sri: Art of Living unites people from all religions. Our slogan is One World Family.
Q: If a person has committed many sins and he is undergoing the effect of the sins, then what do to?
Sri Sri: You are at the right place at the right time doing the right thing.
Many of them will be cancelled.
Don't worry at all about your sins. You have come here. That's it/
Krishna says even though one has done a lot of sins, the moment one shares this knowledge he becomes quickly a pure person. He says don't worry about your sins, I will take care of it.
Sri Sri: We have Sanskrit scholars from Chennai here who are training our boys in the Veda school to read ancient manuscript.
